carbon-formation:

Design and Tattoo by Chad Phillips. I dedicated this piece to my son Carbon, but it is also completely significant to my respect and appreciation for life and its inner workings. This was session one with mostly light grey outline, it will look quite a bit different once it’s packed with colors. I love that I get to look at this everyday. I love Carbon. Things I love about Carbon:
All living organisms contain Carbon, and as they decay or change, they will continue to contain the element. This is called the carbon cycle by which atoms are exchanged between living things, the ground the oceans, the skies and the universe. There is about 1,000,000 gigatons of carbon on Earth. And he loves poop jokes.
I would like to thank my artist and common law husband for being so patient while designing my pieces and dealing with me. And as always I would like to thank the AlmightyBig Bang for spreading its seed of life. Being a mother to this amazing boy has given me strength and daily lessons and experiences that are everything to me, the way carbon is the basis of most living organisms. I admire him. Carbon Quest Phillips was born August 11 2008 in Kansas (via c-section I might add) and is probably the funniest yet most compassionate child I have ever met and I look up to this and his young mind free of judgement. Through my losses and through my illness, I am blessed by the stars with his life and health. He deserves the absolute best. Genuine Happiness through his travels.
